This week I learned:
This week I learned how to show working while doing fractions and ultimately I learned how to do them easier. All I have to do is say the equation would be 2 1/6 + 1 1/3. All you have to do is make them into improper fractions so I would go, 2 times 6 = 12 + the 1 that is already there makes 13/6. That is what an improper fraction is so you do the same thing with the other one so 1 times 3 equals 3 then you plus 3 with the number that’s already there which makes 4 then the denominator stay’s the same so the equation is now 13/6 + 4/3 after this you find the common denominator to in this case three can go into six and all you have to do is double it. So to make 4/3 into six you double now it is 8/6 and now the equation is much simpler 13/6 + 8/6 and now you add the numerators together which is 13 and 8 that equals 21 so the answer is 21/6. Now you have to make it into a proper fraction which is practically 21 divided by 6 and 3 times 6 equals 18 with 3 left over so the final answer would be 3 3/6 which can be simplified 3 1/2.
My goals for next week are: I hope that by the start of next week I finish my book and start on my book review and have enough time to finish my book review and proof read it.
